STEPS is a vibrant community not-for-profit organisation focused on empowering individuals in need, assisting them to overcome barriers, so they can become active and contributing members within their communities.

Through a wide variety of employment, community and training programs, STEPS seeks to foster greater inclusiveness in our neighbourhoods. It’s all about maximising the potential of individuals, and enhancing communities.

STEPS started 20 years ago on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with a group of concerned parents combining to help their children who had intellectual disabilities.

Now with 15 offices throughout Queensland and Northern Territory, STEPS is perhaps most well known for its highly successful employment services, assisting people with disability to find sustainable work within the open job market.

Success stories are many; people with disability finding self-esteem and fulfillment in employment, and employers finding motivated, grateful staff.

Through its growing number of government-funded training and community programs and broadening geographical base, STEPS continues to be a strong influence for social inclusion in communities throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory.

STEPS Training is a registered training organisation with an expanding scope of registration and a reputation for delivering innovative, engaging professional development courses.

The variety of community service programs STEPS delivers continues to broaden, all focused on making a difference for individuals, breaking down isolation and segregation, and building greater levels of dignity and confidence.
