Losing a leg in a work accident seven years ago has not stopped Colin from becoming a valuable employee.
“Colin’s enthusiasm, skills and work ethic makes him a valued member of the Eden Farm team,” said Manager Robert Harbottle.
Colin contacted STEPS at Bundaberg to discuss the type of work he could do after his injury. He had previously worked in the farming and rural sectors and was eager to get back to the farm.
STEPS Employment approached Robert Harbottle at Eden Farms who agreed to give Colin an opportunity to work in the farm’s eight-man maintenance crew.
According to Robert, the effort and skill Colin displays on the job over the past year more than makes up for his disability.
“Colin’s prosthetic leg means he sometimes can’t move around the farm as quickly as others but he is much appreciated for his skills in the maintenance tasks and by being able to drive the trucks and forklift.
“Colin is a very valuable, appreciated member of our team.”
